Application of NewspaperWood in furniture at the new Woonbedrijf head office

NewspaperWood proudly presents the result of a new project in collaboration with Van Eijk and Van der Lubbe. Various pieces of furniture, including the welcome furniture of the new headquarters of Woonbedrijf in Eindhoven, were covered with NewspaperWood veneer and thus tell the story of the history of this place in a poetic way.

In early 2016, the Woonbedrijf housing corporation from Eindhoven (32,000 VhE) moved from four locations spread across the city to one location in the center. Van Eijk and Van der Lubbe were responsible for the complete interior of the building. The new office is a place that inspires and challenges employees, and increases the efficiency of the service to customers. Woonbedrijf is a modern organization with an eye for the future. Social responsibility and sustainability are therefore an important part of the design.

For decades, the Eindhovens Dagblad was located on the spot where the new building was realized. This history is reflected in many places and ways in the interior of this L-shaped building, including a reception desk covered with NewspaperWood veneer; of course, made from newspapers from the Eindhovens Dagblad. To realize the project, NewspaperWood worked closely with interior construction company Gielissen Neos. This collaboration has ensured that NewspaperWood is now also more widely applicable in architectural projects.
